It’s a never-ending debate among students that what books are best for IIT Mains and Advance preparation. It is very important to understand that there is no miraculous book ever existed which will immediately clear all doubts and launch you to the toppers’ pool. But there exist so many which don’t not worth their price and are totally waste of time and money.

The IIT entrance is divided into two parts. Mains and Advance. You need to qualify JEE Mains exam with a prescribed minimum score to sit in JEE Advance. After qualifying JEE Advance you will secure your seat in IITs.

Other than an aggregate score, an individual subject cut off in JEE for Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics is also there. You will also have to clear subject cut off as well to become eligible for JEE counseling.

Since the exam syllabus for IIT JEE Mains and Advance also slightly varies, the books you need to prepare for IIT JEE Advance are slightly different from the books you will require to prepare for JEE Mains only.

Prepare Physics for IIT-JEE

A book to make you a hero from zero. Students who are preparing for JEE in their 11th or 12th class should definitely buy and read this book. Since the concepts in 11th class are fairly new to the students the book will help you to understand the hacks. H C Verma is an evergreen book suggested by the past toppers and faculties of top institutes as well. Especially the Mechanics, Optics, and Thermodynamics is covered in so many details. Note that these are some of the most trouble causing topics for the students.

Students always seek for the more challenging problems to tackle while in their preparation days. I E Irodov is an excellent collection of brainstorming problems you may love to solve. However, if you are only preparing for JEE Mains this book is not recommended as it takes so much time and the difficulty level is much higher for the questions given in the book.

The book is divided into two volumes. It includes all the topics from JEE Mains and Advanced syllabus and covers fundamental chapters like errors and measurements, Units and Dimensions and Vectors as well. The book also contains past 7 years papers at the last which will help you to get the clear understanding of the past papers as well.

Prepare Mathematics for IIT-JEE

If you are preparing for IIT immediately after your 10th class, this book will be your perfect companion. As you will move into the subjects you will need more and more questions to practice with so many solved examples to understand the matter. The book provides you both. It covers all the chapters in depth including calculus, integration, and everything else. The book contains questions from past entrance exams as well which will be a bonus dose to get time by time.

This book has remained a companion of many JEE aspirants from a long time. The subjective questions, however, may feel irrelevant. But they will help you to get a better grasp over the subject. The book works very well with R D Sharma objective and R D Sharma for 11th and 12th. In the new addition, multiple answer questions are also included as JEE Advanced pattern.

Prepare Chemistry for IIT-JEE

O P Tandon books are the best books available in the market to help you in preparing all three wings together. Unlike the other chemistry books, it contains a huge number of questions to solve which is very important.

For chemistry subject, the NCERT has done enough justice by giving such a good content. The book is relevant enough to prepare for JEE Mains. But you can not totally rely on them and expect to get more than 300 marks just by reading. Still, you must have these books if you are preparing for JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.

If you are finding difficulty as many students feel, you can go for this solution. P Bahadur is a physical chemistry made easy book for every JEE aspirants. Additionally, the book contains so many questions and theory to understand the concepts as well.

Books to Practice Objective Questions (MCQ) for JEE Mains

There are good books available for NEET when it comes to the objective books but there are very limited solutions available for JEE aspirants. It is very important to practice objective questions for JEE mains. Here are the books we have selected after getting reviews from the past readers.

The book which comes with quantity plus quality for all IIT JEE candidates. This book is more than enough to practice for engineering entrance exams. There are so many questions divided section wise manner and with various entrance exam and NCERT questions as well.

This book is good as a crash course. However, you will also require a theory and subjective book like  H C Verma as well. This book is perhaps the only good enough solution for multiple choice question practice for IIT JEE Physics.

I don’t think you need any other book to practice objective questions in chemistry. Since the O P. Tandon and NCERT books are far enough. But still, if you are interested, this book may be a good choice.
